No one talked because he was blind
Shrikant Bolla is the first blind person who sachusetts institute of technology I have gone to study science management. Srikanth is a businessman and Owner of Bolant Industries. Srikanth’s village was at some distance near Machilipatnam city of Andhra Pradesh. The condition of his village was such that he had to walk many kilometers to study. He used to undertake this journey with the help of his brother and friends. According to the BBC report, Srikanth said that because he was blind, no one talked to him.
In childhood I was advised to commit murder
Srikanth had told that many people used to come to his parents and tell him to kill him by pressing him with a pillow. Ignoring the words of the people, his parents supported him. When Srikanth was eight years old, he was admitted to a blind school. It was here that he learned cricket, swimming and chess. Shrikant Bolla had passed intermediate with 98 percentile marks.
Case filed against education system
After Intermediate, he wanted to take admission in IIT for further engineering studies, but IIT refused to give him admission because he was blind. Troubled by this conservative thinking, he filed a case against the education system and won the case within six months and then pursued further studies.
First blind student to study at MIT
after this degree Srikanth chose MIT, Cambridge, Massachusetts. Srikant was the first blind student to study at MIT. Srikanth said Lead India 2020: Has also been a member of The Second National Youth Movement. It was started by the country’s former President APJ Abdul Kalam. After this, it was now the turn to do something for myself. In such a situation, Srikanth returned back to Hyderabad.
Owner of a company worth crores
After coming to Hyderabad, he established Bolant Industries, which cost about Rs 10 crore. This company makes eco-friendly goods and all the members working here are disabled. In the year 2016, he became so famous that Ratan Tata also invested in his company. Today, Shrikant Bolla is the owner of a company worth crores and his wealth is increasing every year.
